I have 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples in the East Bay. I received my B.A. in Sociology at UC Davis, and my M.A. in Counseling Psychology at John F Kennedy University.
Learning to be a therapist at Kennedy afforded me, not only an academic environment, but also a very personal one. As a student in the Holistic Studies Department, I was challenged intellectually, as well as, emotionally. I was asked to learn about myself, this enabled me to learn therapy from the inside out.
To me, good therapy addresses several aspects of the individual, i.e. cognitive, emotional, behavioral; many therapies focus on only one. Also, therapy must include the guidance of a psychotherapist who understands herself, and the process of personal growth.
